Listing out of stock but available at the supplier

2 min read

What to do when an Inventory listing is Out of Stock, or has quantity 0 on eBay, but the product looks available on the supplier's site.

The listing is out of stock but the product is available at the supplier

First open the Inventory, find the listing (search by Listing ID) and read the red notice under the row.

Possible causes:

  1. Shipping times exceed the Maximum delivery days: the notice says "The product is out of stock because the shipping times exceed the maximum days allowed by your preferences". The product is available, but it would arrive too late. What to do: if you want to sell it anyway, raise Maximum delivery days in the store's Prices & Stock tab (eBay Stores). It applies to every product of the store.
  2. The supplier doesn't sell or ship the product: the notice says "The product is out of stock because it is no longer available or has been permanently removed by the supplier". Open the BUY link in the Product ID column and check that the page shows the same product (same ID in the address), available and shippable to the country of the listing's region. What to do: if the supplier replaced the product with another one, change Product URL from the listing editor (Edit a listing); otherwise wait for it to come back.
  3. You set the availability by hand: in the editor's Price tab (Edit a listing's price and quantity), Availability is Not available with (Edited). Droopify no longer updates it from the supplier. What to do: choose Available and save, or use Reset Changes to go back to automatic updates.
  4. Stock Monitoring is off: the notice says "Automatic stock monitoring has been disabled by you.". The availability stays as it was when you turned it off. What to do: turn Stock Monitoring back on in the Price tab or with Edit Listings (Bulk edit listings).
  5. The product came back in stock recently: Droopify checks products periodically, so the update may arrive with some delay. What to do: wait for the next check; once the product is available the quantity goes back to the Default Quantity.
  6. The Default Quantity is 0: no red notice, but QTY in the Quantity column is 0. What to do: set a Default Quantity above 0 in the Price tab.

The listing is not in the Inventory

If the listing is on eBay but not in the Inventory, it may be in the Untracked Inventory: there Droopify doesn't update availability until you synchronize it.

If no cause matches, write to support with the Listing ID, the eBay store, the supplier product link and a screenshot of the row with the notice. How automatic updates work is explained in Price and stock monitoring.
