Add Supplier Account

3 min read

At the end of this procedure the supplier account shows as connected on the Supplier Accounts page and Droopify can use it for automatic orders and to follow orders.

Before you start

  • The number of supplier accounts (Amazon and AliExpress together) depends on your plan: see Prices.
  • An Amazon or AliExpress account can be connected to only one Droopify account.
  • For Amazon you need the email (or phone number) and password, and the Amazon account's security page open in another tab.

Choosing the supplier

  1. Go to Settings > Supplier Accounts and click Add Supplier Account.
  2. Choose the supplier:
    • Amazon: the popup becomes Add Amazon Account. Continue with the next sections.
    • AliExpress: the AliExpress authorization page opens, where you log in and authorize Droopify. You don't enter passwords or keys in Droopify: the procedure and errors are in AliExpress account.

Finding the 2FA secret key on Amazon

  1. On Amazon open the login and security settings, then two-step verification.
  2. Choose to add a new authenticator app.
  3. Amazon shows a QR code: choose the option to see the key instead of the QR code and copy it (52 characters; spaces don't matter).

Keep this Amazon page open: you need it again to confirm the OTP code.

Connecting the Amazon account

  1. In Add Amazon Account fill in the fields:

    FieldWhat to enter
    Account TypePrivate or Business
Email or Phone NumberThe account email, or the phone with international prefix and a space, for example +39 3333333333
    PasswordThe Amazon account password
RegionCountry of the Amazon you use (for example IT for Amazon Italy)
2FA Secret Key (MFA)The key copied from Amazon
  2. Read the authorization below the fields and click Accept and Continue.

  3. Droopify shows a 6-digit OTP code: enter it on the Amazon page to confirm the new authenticator app.

  4. Go back to Droopify and click Confirm and Proceed.

  5. Wait without reloading the page: the button shows the progress, and the login can take a few minutes.

Video guide to the procedure (the same one you find in the popup):

The login fails even though you followed the procedure

The most frequent cause is two-step verification on Amazon: if the account has other verification methods (text message, another authenticator app) set as the preferred one, Amazon asks for that code at login instead of the one generated by Droopify, and the login can't be completed.

  1. On Amazon open the login and security settings, then two-step verification.
  2. Set the authenticator app added for Droopify as the preferred method, or remove the methods you don't use.
  3. In Droopify click Log In on the account row and enter the Password again.

Logging in again with Log In

When the login of an Amazon account has expired, or after disconnecting it, click Log In on the row: Add Amazon Account opens with type, email, region and 2FA key already filled in. Enter the Password and click Accept and Continue: the OTP code doesn't need to be confirmed again.

What happens next

When the login ends, the popup closes and the table refreshes:

  • if the login succeeded, The supplier account has been added successfully. appears and the account shows as connected;
  • if it failed, the error message with the reason appears and the account stays not connected: solutions are in Amazon account.

To set the account limits and status see Edit a supplier account. The other actions are in Supplier Accounts.
