Edit a listing with variants

2 min read

How to edit a listing with variants (sizes, colours): shared data is changed from the group row, price, quantity and images from each variant.

Before you start

  • The listing must be in the Inventory, where it takes a group row with the variants below.
  • If the row is greyed out an operation is running: wait for it to finish.

What you edit from the group and what from the variant

WhereTabsWhat you can change
Group rowDetails, Template, Item SpecificsTitle, description, category, brand, custom tag, template and item specifics, shared by all variants
Variant rowDetails, Price, Images, OtherQuantity, availability, price, profit and images of that variant

The link to the supplier's product (Product URL) can't be changed on listings with variants.

Editing the shared data

  1. In the Inventory click the group row or its yellow Edit button.
  2. In the Details tab change Title (up to 80 characters), Description, Category, Brand or Custom tag. eBay Store can't be changed.
  3. In the Template tab pick the description template, or No template.
  4. In the Item Specifics tab fix the eBay item specifics of the product.
  5. Click Save Changes.

With Improve with AI you can have title, description and item specifics rewritten using credits: the texts appear in the fields and reach eBay after Save Changes (Improve a listing with AI).

Editing a variant

  1. Open the group row and click the variant row, or its yellow Edit button.
  2. The Details tab shows Product Code (SKU), Selling Region, Ship from and Shipping Time, read only.
  3. In the Price tab change quantity, availability, price and profit of the variant. The fields are explained in Edit a listing's price and quantity.
  4. In the Images tab add, remove or reorder the variant's images.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Resetting to the original values

Each changed field shows (Edited). Reset Changes brings every field of the item you are editing, the group or the single variant, back to the supplier's values and the store settings.

What happens next

  • Once eBay has received the changes, "The listing has been saved successfully." appears and the table refreshes. If the change fails, the popup stays open and shows the error message (Edit a listing).
  • The outcome of each edit is also in Operations History, at the top of the Inventory.
  • Deleting and sponsoring always apply to the whole listing, with all its variants: the buttons are only on the group row (Delete a listing, Sponsor a listing).
