Do I need a business account to sell on eBay with Droopify?
No: you can connect an eBay store with a Private or a Business account to Droopify, and in both cases you can create drafts, publish them and manage orders.
If eBay asks you to switch to business
When a seller must use a business account is decided by eBay and by the rules of the country you sell in, not by Droopify. If eBay asks you to switch, follow the instructions in eBay's help pages; for any tax obligations arising from your activity, ask an accountant.
What changes in Droopify with a private account
With a Private account almost everything works the same way, with these differences:
| Feature | Private account | Business account |
|---|---|---|
| eBay fees in the price calculation | Rates for private sellers | Rates for business sellers |
| Multi-purchase promotions and Discount code for all listings | Not available | Available |
| VAT (%) field when editing a draft | Disabled | Enabled |
If you try to turn on a promotion with a private account, you see The option is not available because the selected eBay store doesn't have a business account.
Where you see your store's account type
On the eBay Stores page, the Type column shows Private or Business: Droopify reads the value from eBay. The Account Type field is in the General tab of the store settings.
