# Sponsor a listing

How to turn on the eBay sponsorship of a single listing with the **Sponsor Listing** popup.

## Before you start

- Sponsorship creates an advertising campaign on eBay: you pay eBay a percentage of the selling price when the sale comes from the sponsorship.
- On eBay you must have accepted the promoted listings agreement.
- Sponsorship applies to the whole listing, with all its variants.
- To sponsor or update several listings at once see [Manage the sponsorship of several listings](https://docs.droopify.co/en/manage-sponsorship). To sponsor every new listing automatically use the store's **Automatic Sponsorship** tab ([eBay Stores](https://docs.droopify.co/en/ebay-account)).

## Sponsor Listing fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Sponsorship Type** | **Fixed**: the percentage stays the one you set. **Dynamic**: eBay adjusts the percentage based on its suggestions, adding the adjustment percentage, with the sponsorship percentage as the maximum |
| **Sponsorship percentage** | Percentage of the price paid to eBay; at least 2% |
| **Adjustment percentage** | **Dynamic** only: percentage added to the one suggested by eBay |

Under the fields the popup shows the profit you will make selling through the sponsorship and the fee you will pay, recalculated as you change the values.

## Sponsoring a listing

1. In the [Inventory](https://docs.droopify.co/en/inventory) click the green **Sponsor** button on the listing row (for listings with variants, on the group row).
2. In the **Sponsor Listing** popup choose **Sponsorship Type** and **Sponsorship percentage** (and, for **Dynamic**, the **Adjustment percentage**).
3. Check the estimated profit and fee.
4. Click **Sponsor Listing**.

## What happens next

- "The selected listing has been sponsored successfully." appears. If eBay rejects the sponsorship, the popup stays open and shows the error message.
- The **Sponsor** label with the percentage appears under the title; for **Dynamic** it shows the possible range.
- In the **Profit** column the **AD** line shows the profit when the sale comes from the sponsorship, fee already deducted. For **Dynamic** it is followed by ">" because it is the lowest possible value.
- The green button becomes **Remove Sponsorship** ([Remove a listing's sponsorship](https://docs.droopify.co/en/delete-sponsors)).

## Possible errors

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| **The sponsorship percentage must be at least 2%.** | Enter a percentage of at least 2 |
| **The sponsorship percentage entered is not valid.** | Use values between 2 and 100 for the sponsorship and between 0 and 100 for the adjustment |
| **You need to accept the Promoted Listings User Agreement to create promoted listings. Please accept the agreement in your eBay store settings.** | Accept the agreement on eBay, then try again |
