# Edit a listing

> Edit a listing or a variant from the Droopify Inventory: title, description, category, images, template, item specifics and product URL on eBay.

How to edit a listing without variants, or a single variant, and save the changes to eBay.

## Before you start

- The listing must be in the [Inventory](https://docs.droopify.co/en/inventory). If the row is greyed out an operation is running: wait for it to finish.

## Opening the editor

1. In the Inventory click the listing row or the yellow **Edit** button.
2. For a variant, open the group row and click the variant row.

The popup's title is the listing title (or the variant name).

## Fields of the Details tab

| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| **Title** | Up to 80 characters, with a counter |
| **eBay Store** | Cannot be changed |
| **Description** | Text of the description |
| **Category** | Search and pick the eBay category; if missing, "Auto-assigned if missing" |
| **Brand** | Brand of the product |
| **Custom tag** | Pick a tag or type a new one to create it |
| **Product URL** | Link to the supplier's product. Changing it reloads the whole product: the warning "Changing the Product URL will modify the entire product" appears |
| **Variant**, **Product Code (SKU)**, **Selling Region**, **Ship from**, **Shipping Time** | Read only |

For a variant the tab only shows the read-only fields.

## Saving or resetting

1. Next to each changed field **(Edited)** appears: hover it to read the effect.
2. Click **Save Changes**. Once eBay has received the changes, "The listing has been saved successfully." appears and the table refreshes. If the change fails, the popup stays open and the error message appears.
3. To go back to the supplier's values and the store settings click **Reset Changes**: it applies to every field of the listing (title, description, images, price, quantity). When it is done the popup closes and the table refreshes.

## Possible errors

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| **Error uploading images** | Try again with a png or jpeg image |
| **The supplier URL can only be edited on a single listing at a time.** | Change the URL from a listing without variants |
| **The supplier product URL is not valid. Check the link and try again.** | Paste the full link of an Amazon or AliExpress product |
| **The requested operation is not valid.** | Reload the page and try the edit again |
| **The draft or listing was not found. It may have been deleted: refresh the page and try again.** | The listing is no longer in Droopify: refresh the page and check that it is still in the Inventory |
| eBay message | eBay rejected the change: fix the field named in the message and save again |
