# Create a template

> How to create an eBay description template in Droopify with New template: a library design or a Custom template in HTML, variables and possible errors.

At the end of this procedure the new template appears in the list of the **Templates** tab of an eBay store, for one region and supplier.

## Before you start

- Open the tab from **eBay Stores** > **Edit** > region > supplier > **Templates** ([Templates](https://docs.droopify.co/en/templates)). Each region and supplier has its own templates.
- For your own template you need the full HTML code of the description.

## Creating the template

1. In the **Templates** tab click **New template**.
2. In **Select a template** pick a design from the library, or **Custom template** to use your own HTML.
3. In **Template name** enter a name.
4. Only for **Custom template**: paste the HTML code in **Custom template HTML**.
5. Click **Create template**. The button becomes active when the required fields are filled in.

In the HTML code you can use these variables, which Droopify replaces with the product data:

| `{title}` | Title |
| `{brand}` | Brand |
| `{description}` | Description |
| `{currency}`, `{price}` | Currency and price |
| `{ebay_store_name}` | eBay store name |
| `{image}`, `{image[1]}` to `{image[5]}` | Product images |

## What happens next

**Template created successfully** appears and the template shows at the top of the list, with a preview. It is not in use yet: to use it, choose it in the list and click **Save Changes** ([Templates](https://docs.droopify.co/en/templates)).

For a **Custom template** Droopify creates the preview image from the code on its own: creation can take a few seconds.

## Possible errors

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| **Please select a template to continue.** | Go back to **Select a template** and pick a design |
| **Please enter a name for the template.** | Fill in **Template name** |
| **The template HTML content is missing.** | Paste the code in **Custom template HTML** |
| **The file upload failed. Please try again.** | The preview of the custom template could not be created: try again |
| **The template could not be created. Please try again.** | Try again; if it happens again, contact support |
