# Changing your password

> How to change your Droopify password, or set one if you sign in with Google or Discord: recovery link by email, new password and the rules it must follow.

You change your Droopify password, or set one if so far you have always used Google or Discord, with a recovery link you receive by email.

## Before you start

- You need access to the mailbox of your Droopify account.
- The new password must be at least 12 characters long.

## Changing the password

1. In **Settings** open **Security & Access**.
2. In the **Connected Accounts** panel click **Edit Password** on **Email & Password**.
3. On the **Recover your Password** page enter your email and click **Send Recovery Link**.
4. Open the email you receive and click the link.
5. On the **Reset your Password** page type the **New Password**, repeat it in **Confirm Password** and click **Reset Password**.

After saving you go to the sign-in page: log in with the new password.

## Setting a password if you sign in with Google or Discord

If **Email & Password** is **Not Configured**:

1. Click **Enable Sign In** on **Email & Password**.
2. **Email and password sign in has been enabled successfully.** appears and the **Recover your Password** page opens.
3. Continue from step 3 of **Changing the password**.

From then on you can sign in both with email and password and with Google or Discord.

## Possible errors

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| **The password must be at least 12 characters long.** | Make the password longer |
| **Passwords do not match.** | Type the same password in both fields |
| **Password confirmation is required.** | Repeat the password in **Confirm Password** |
